Our Cause
The Hospitality Association
The Hospitality Association is the umbrella organization over all the clubs and events in The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University. The mission of the Hospitality Association is to develop hospitality leaders through opportunity, guidance and responsibility.
HA helps students travel to industry conferences; hosts roundtable discussions; organizes industry tours, sales blitzes, and culinary demonstrations; presents two graduation celebrations; and provides many exciting leadership activities. The Hospitality Association provides funding to all of its ten clubs and the four major events that occur each year in The School.
The Hospitality Association has been able to provide unforgettable experiences for hundreds of The School's students because of the funding they receive from Destination Auction. The trip to New York City for the International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show is a student favorite! This past year, 65 students were able to attend this amazing conference. Students spent the weekend at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel & Towers. They were able to tour different hotel and restaurant properties in the city and also had some time for exploring the Big Apple. It was a truly memorable experience for all of the students who were able to attend!

The Hospitality Business Spartans
The School of Hospitality Business Alumni Association, newly named The Hospitality Business Spartans, hosts two national alumni awards receptions, two national meetings, a Legacy Breakfast, Homecoming Reception, and numerous regional meetings each year. The mission of The Hospitality Business Spartans is to provide active leadership in support of the mission of The School through membership participation, image enhancement, financial commitment, and promotion of synergies among students, faculty, alumni and friends. Since 1988, The Hospitality Business Spartans have helped The School raise over $17 million; 80 percent of this total has been placed in endowments that will be available to The School forever. They have funded The School’s website, the Spartan Sponsors Mentor Program to link students and alumni with similar career interests, and the their Hall of Fame.
